Hit or Miss: Garnier Clean + Shine Control Cleansing Gel

(via garnier.com)

Hey all! I’ve been trying to keep up with Hit or Miss Mondays as consistently as possible. So far, so good.

Let’s talk skincare. I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve spoken about something other than makeup. It’s just that I’m a serious makeup junkie and stay tuned because I bought tons of lipsticks on Black Friday. So expect a review on the Melt Cosmetics matte lipsticks! Now, back to the topic!

For the millionth time mentioned on this blog, I’m an OILY BEAST with huge pores around my nose. Therefore, I love oil free, shine free, and mattifying products. I came across this baby and gave it a shot. According to Garnier.com, after one day your skin will be deeply clean and shine free. It says after one week, you’ll see clearer skin and less vvisiblepores. The cleanser also contains charcoal, which draws out all the impurities.

I’v been using this for about 2 weeks and I think this product is NOT BAD. It’s not either a hit or miss. In my opinion, my skin has cleared up AND it feels extremely clean after I use this product. I haven’t noticed much of a difference in pores though. Most people will say it’s a hit because it does as advertised basically. However, compared to other cleansers I’ve used this one isn’t one of the best. It’s good for oily skin but don’t expect all your problems to be fixed with this.

Hit or Miss: GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment

IMG_2060.JPG

Hey beauties! It’s time for another review on Hit or Miss Monday and we’re gonna talk skincare! I’m always on the hunt for products that will help my oily skin out, especially during the summer months. I’ve been eying GlamGlow products for a while and have heard a lot of great things about it. The only issue was that I didn’t want to dish $70 and end up being disappointed. Therefore, on my recent trip to Sephora I grabbed a sample of the GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment.  Keep in mind that there are 4 GlamGlow masks, I got the clearing treatment one. There is also an exfoliating one, a hydrating one, and a dualcleanse one.

According to Sephora, this specific treatment is supposed to heal your skin, prevent breakouts, and visibly draw out all the gunk from your face. It’s also supposed to minimize your pores, soften and brighten your skin. Now, the sample actually lasted me a good 4 days because this product is very thick. I use a flat foundation brush to apply it all over my face because I feel like if I use my fingers, I’ll be wasting more product. I ended up using it 2x per week. The question is did I see any difference in my skin? The answer is YES.

As you can see in the picture, the mask goes on a dark charcoal color and then dries up into a light gray color. I keep the mask on for about 20 minutes. As the mask is drying, you’ll literally see the dirt and oil being sucked out of your face. EXCUSE MY HUGE PORES but as you can see the pores around my nose are MASSIVE. Also, those dark spots around my face are the oils and dirt being sucked out. Crazy and gross, right? Keep in mind this was AFTER I washed my face with my Clarisonic. It’s like your face can never get clean enough! Anyway, after I rinsed my face with warm water my skin felt soooo clean! The pores were visibility smaller on my nose too. So needless to say this product is a HIT & I will be picking it up from Sephora ASAP.

Hit or Miss: Clarisonic Deep Pore Brush Head

Hi All! Let’s talk skincare in today’s Hit or Miss Monday. Last week, I stated in my skin care routine that I’ve been using the Clarisonic deep pore brush head lately. I bought the twin pack at Sephora for $44 about a month ago. Before, I  was using the acne brush head and the sensitive brush head. The acne and sensitive brush heads were alright but I was still getting breakouts. Don’t get me wrong, you get fewer breakouts if you’re using the Clarisonic period, rather than your hands. However, it doesn’t prevent breakouts from happening all together. At least not for me.

Anyway, I bought this brush head because I heard it was perfect for oily skin and large pores. I unfortunately have both of those! So I tried and out and here is what I think … IT’S A GEM. This brush head is amazing. It definitely lives up to it’s name. I can honestly say that I don’t have any breakouts. I may have a pimple or two come out sometimes BUT never a breakout. I thought my skin was going to purge a bit when I first used this brush head but nope. I’ve seen 2 pimples surface on my face since I’ve been using this brush head. Also, my pores have become a tad less noticeable. To top it off, my skin tone has even become more even. Crazy, right!? I’m in love with this brush head. It has definitely made a difference in my skin. I recommend this brush head to anyone with acne prone skin. Especially if your skin is oily.

Hit or Miss: L’oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur

20140601-123736-45456423.jpg

It’s Hit or Miss Monday! You guys voted and wanted a makeup product review BUT this product can be used both for skincare AND makeup. So, here we go.

I never thought about using this product until Nicole Guerriero discussed it a few times on YouTube. This product is supposed to instantly erase the look of lines, wrinkles, and pores. You can apply it after moisturizer, wear it alone or under foundation. L’oreal says it’s a “Instant Skin Smoother”.

What do I think of this product? It’s definitely a HIT. I use this as a primer but I don’t apply moisturizer before it because my skin is oily and I don’t want to add more moisture on it. After I wash my face, I apply the Miracle Blur then my foundation. I’ll tell you right now, it blurs the crap out of my pores! I have HUGE pores near my nose and chin and it’s like they never existed. I don’t have wrinkles or lines .. yet. However, I’m sure it works for that too. I didn’t buy it myself but I’m sure the prices is around $20 at the drugstore. My grandmother actually bought it and she claims to like it so I guess it does work for wrinkles and lines. This is definitely the first drugstore primer I’ve liked so if you don’t want to dish $30+ on a primer, I suggest just going to the drugstore and picking this baby up! It definitely works!
